South Jersey Transportation Authority, ACY
Tim Kroll, Airport Director

March 4, 2021

Egg Harbor Township, NJ – March 04, 2021 — Spirit Airlines plans to invest in its Atlantic City International Airport (ACY) base with an extension of service to West Palm Beach, Fla., and a return of service to Atlanta, Ga.

ACY Airport Director, Tim Kroll, expressed his enthusiasm saying, “Spirit Airlines continues to be a great partner at ACY and their commitment to not only the airport, but to the entire region is appreciated as we all work together in this recovery.”

Traditionally operating with winter seasonal non-stop flights, Spirit’s West Palm Beach service, originally scheduled to end in April, will now be extended through at least the summer. Spirit’s Atlanta nonstop flights return with their summer seasonal service beginning Wednesday, April 14 after needing to suspend the 2020 summer season early.

“We are proud of our decades-long partnership with ACY and look forward to welcoming our Guests on flights to West Palm Beach, Atlanta or one of our other five cities this summer,” said Nick Bartolotta, Spirit’s Director of Network Planning. “This growth reflects the great efforts the airport has made to help mitigate the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic everywhere from maintaining high quality of health standards to prudent cost management.”

In addition to Atlanta and West Palm Beach at ACY, Spirit Airlines continues to offer daily nonstop flights to Myrtle Beach, SC, and Fort Lauderdale, Fort Myers, Orlando and Tampa in Florida. For schedule and fare information, and to book your flights, please visit

2021 is off to a great start at Spirit Airlines. In January, the carrier launched its new Free Spirit® loyalty program, which is the fastest way to earn rewards and status.* Spirit is also one of only three U.S. airlines listed on FORTUNE's 2021 list of World's Most Admired® Companies, which measures companies with the strongest reputation within their industries. Spirit also earned “Platinum” status by the Airline Passenger Experience Association (APEX) Health Safety initiative powered by SimpliFlying.

Guest Safety
Spirit’s commitment to Safe Travels includes a multi-layered safety approach that requires all Guests and Team Members to wear face coverings. Each passenger agrees to that policy as part of a health and safety acknowledgement prior to boarding the aircraft. Every plane in our Fit Fleet® uses state-of-the-art, high-efficiency particulate air (HEPA) filters that capture 99.97% of particles and filter the air for contaminants every 3 minutes.

Between each flight, enhanced cleaning procedures focus on high-touch areas such as tray tables and armrests. Spirit also uses two EPA-registered fogging treatments. The first applies a safe, high-grade disinfectant that’s effective against coronaviruses. The second uses an antimicrobial product that forms an invisible barrier on all surfaces that kills bacteria and viruses on contact for 30 days. Please visit Spirit’s COVID-19 Information Center for more information on safety enhancements.
